Johan recently began a new research role at Sense Lab in the Department of Culinary Arts & Meal Science, University of Örebro. Sense Lab is a brand new research lab focused on the future of sensory experiences within the area of food and health. It’s part of the University of Örebro’s new investment in sensory science and a collaboration not only with international researchers but also businesses.

Together with professor Åsa Öström and lab technician Asgeir Nilsen, Johan will be running the lab and its research development.

To accept the role at Sense Lab feels inspiring and strategically the right thing to do. My aim is to constantly be at the forefront of research within food, taste and meal science. Now I have the opportunity to develop innovative studies I’ve long considered, while we at Diaz & Swahn are able to apply it to specific business projects. It’s a cutting-edge fusion between research and business, and an exciting challenge where I see the research really making a difference to the future of food and health – Johan Swahn.

With more than a decade of experience developing sensory marketing tools, the new role at Sense Lab is a complement to the work of Diaz & Swahn and a vital step in the continued success of identifying and meeting client needs.
